It's nice to see christians exposing themselves as intolerant imbeciles yet again by demanding that everyone believe the same as them.
Probably the funniest line to ever dribble from the slack jaw of a redneck;
"The united states is based on freedom of religion, Speech, etc., Which means you can believe in god any way you want (Baptist, catholic, methodist, etc.), but you must believe".
This letter is mentioned on Snopes. http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/atheists.asp
ReplyDeleteHilarious. Where did this letter appear on?
ReplyDeleteShe probably does not know what freedom of religion means. And apparently, she is even more ignorant of what democracy is.
ReplyDeleteWho chose this "person" to lead the next genocide... did she go and poll "the majority of Americans?" See that kind of stuff works both ways, for example, the majority of Americans believe that people like this should be euthanized against their will. See right there? I have no proof or really any real thought, but it sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe there are Americans who still think like the medieval Europeans. Those are likely the descendants of the ones that fled Europe because of religious persecution.
ReplyDeleteIf atheists are equated to evil because they have done nothing to harm their fellow human beings then what do we call an Evangelical president who illegally attacks an innocent nation and kills about 600,000 people as a result? Evangelical America wake up. The world has changed since you looked last. Fake patriotism 'a la Palin' does no longer excite anyone but the most stupid and self deceptive.
As the first poster mentioned, Snopes talks about this. The thing that Snopes reveals is in fact that the letter was a farce.The woman who sent it in did it just to see how angry she could make people.
ReplyDeleteThe theft of Dan Barker's sign from the Olympia Capitol building was also a Poe.
ReplyDeletefound a perfect quote from a soldier replying to another's readers letter, discussing discrimination in the US military.

Wasn't it less than a century ago that a large part of the majority wanted to rid the country of African Americans?
ReplyDeleteWasn't that also done in the name of religion?
