Christine Lutz, A christian woman, was asked to leave a bus because she refused to stop reading her bible loudly to her children.
Of course, This woman is claiming persecution and religious discrimination even though her activities show an utter lack of consideration for the other passengers and driver and even though the bus company makes it clear that they have a policy forbidding loud behaviour. It has nothing to do with the bible, Nothing to do with her religion. It's simply that she was being loud and obnoxious on public transport.
The religious assume that they are entitled to be inconsiderate, Hateful, Disrespectful and annoying because they happen to have a religion and any attempt to prevent them being antisocial or inconsiderate is said to be an attack on their religion.

ReplyDeleteIs this all religious or just some? Because I would find it rather an irrational claim to make it appear as all.
And similarly, I feel the same way about Dawkins. He seems to think he can get away with disrespecting religious people just because of his status.
How does he disrespect religious people? Why does criticizing religious belief always somehow equate to disrespect, and sometimes to outright insult specifically to religious people? He doesn't go out to buses, shouting to people about Atheism, standing on the corner of streets holding up signs. He provides respectful, intellectual discourse through published books, and television appearances, and if you don't like it, then don't read it, don't watch it.

ReplyDeleteDisrespect aside, this is a step in the right direction.
Why did they not say obnoctious woman kicked off bus for annoying other passengers?
