The Atheist Test

I have just stumbled across this monstrosity of an illogical argument from the worlds dumbest christian and i just have to address it.

Ray Comfort, The banana guy (yeah, That idiot), Presents a test to atheists, The test consists of two questions and goes something like this.
Question one: Do you know the weight of sand on all the beaches of Hawaii?
Question two: Do you know the number of hairs on the back of a fully grown male Tibetan Yak?

Did you answer "no" to both? I know i did. The point Ray Comfort is so fatuously making is that nobody knows everything (even though science could find the answers). Then Ray uses the obvious fact that nobody knows everything to present the argument that in all the knowledge you don't posses there could be evidence that god does exist.

Well, Yes, A lot of things are possible Ray. It's possible that i will win the lottery tomorrow, It's possible that the sun won't rise, it's possible that the moon will disappear. the thing is Ray, Reasonable people don't live their lives, base their politics, Start wars and raise their children based on what is "possible".
Reasonable people don't mutilate their child's genitals, Cut peoples heads off and bomb abortion clinics based on what is "possible".

So here's test for the religious;
Question #1: Do you know what i had for breakfast?
Question #2: Do you know how many blades of grass are on the planet?

Well surely, if you admit that there is a lot that you don't know you must admit that in there somewhere may possibly be evidence that your god, Or anyone elses, Doesn't exist.

This is where it gets tricky for the religious. Because rational atheists have no problem admitting that there may be a god, After all anything is possible and the atheists main point is that there is no evidence for god. But it's a lot harder for someone who claims to be a believer to admit that they may be wrong.

Between this nonsense and his insane banana argument I'm surprised christians haven't told Ray to shut the fuck up and go away. Even they must see what a moron this guys is. Seriously, He does nothing but harm to your cause by presenting these incorrect, Illogical and fatuous arguments as evidence that his super-buddy-in-the-sky exists.

  1. I haven't heard the sand or other question you mentioned. Ray is trying to show that the questions he asks are absurb and so is the question of whether there is a God? The evidence is the existence of the entire universe and the complex human body.

  2. There is no evidence what so ever that god exists. Not the universe, not the human body not anything that exists. God only exists in the minds of those who choose to believe in the idea of a god.

  3. That is an awfully bold statement "Anonymous". Where is your proof that God does not exist? To know that he does not exist you must be all knowing??

  4. Kimberly, in reality it's no more a bold statement than the statement that fairies don't exist is. Though i'm sure if someone did make the claim that fairies don't exist you wouldn't label it as "bold". Your god isn't entitled to special considerations, well, Certainly no more than fairies are.

  5. How do you KNOW that God does not exist? If I were you, I would want to know without a shadow of a doubt....

  6. Ah, but people experience God - He does change peoples lives, He does heal folks, He does assist.

Fairies? They pretty much just float about sprinkling dust on children to make them fly.

I know who I'd rather believe in.

  7. What i don\'t think you noticed matt, is the entire point of what was said, you cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there is no God. Therefore, you cannot say \"There is no God.\" Therefore, you cannot possibly be an atheist.
Ray isn\'t proving to you that God does exist, he\'s stating that he could, and it\'s more likely that he could exist, than it is that he doesn\'t you can see this in that at least we have a viable argument. We have proof that people mentioned in the bible did live, and that miracles did happen. I may not know how many blades of grass there are on the planet, but i have seen people prayed for, and healed before my eyes, the fact that this happened at the same time as they were prayed for is an impossible coincidence. Especially noting that things like this happen every day. There is no atheism, because you can not say, or even begin to guess with any supporting data that there is no God.

  8. You are confused with regard to what an atheist is Andrew. Atheists don't say a god definitely doesn't exist, They simply say they don't believe in one.

It's a shame that we have to continuously argue the same points with the religious but it's no different to fairies. I'm sure you don't believe fairies exist, even though you have no way of proving their nonexistence.

Disbelieving in the unsupported is perfectly rational. it's when one believes in the unsupported that it because irrational.

it's also entirely false to claim that there is proof that miracles happened. Though if you feel you have proof feel free to write a paper and win yourself a Nobel prize by invalidating all previously accepted physical laws.

  9. To be an atheist is to play Russian roulette with all the barrels loaded. An atheist just can’t win. Of course, he feels and acts like a big player, until the trigger is pulled.

The issue isn’t the existence of God. If the atheist is wrong and there is a Creator, then he was wrong. He gambled and he lost; no big deal. The real gamble is that there’s no hell. That’s what makes the player sweat, just a little. “What if?” is the deep and nagging doubt. He believes it’s worth the excitement of the game. Yet atheism isn’t a mind game; it is intellectual suicide.

It’s been said, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” That maxim is true. If there is no thirst, the horse won’t drink. However, you can “salt his oats” to increase his thirst.

Even though the atheist lives every day with the evidence of creation right under his nose, that’s often not enough to make him thirst for the truth. He needs something else to give him a thirst he never thought he would have—a thirst for the God he once denied.

  10. Atheist should have to prove that Jesus did not was on the cross and did not rose from the dead.

This debate is all about who's right. If there is no god, I am not a sinner, and can live as I want. I make the rules. I am the god of my life. If there is a just and holy God, whom I laugh at, it is obvious that I rebel and I am a sinner.

Atheism is for shy ppl who does not want to admit before a true and right God they are sinners. They want to hide their sins. They justify for ex. abortion (murder), gossip (lie), tax-cheating (rebellion), sexualism (idolatry), curse words, etc...

The Bible tells that everyone will be judged by God who is true and can not be cheated.

So there are no atheists. There are only sin-denier self-justifier people. Two kind of them we know:
    1. atheist ego-gods.
    2. religious good-doer self-provers.

Both says: I am good enough (sin of pride).
Both deny God or his holiness and that He hates evil (sin of corruptness).

The conclusion: if there is no god or he doesnot hate evil (he is corrupt) WE DO NOT NEED A LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS.

That is the point: DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD OR NOT.

He said: "Who is not with me is against me."

Which side do you chose: sin or God?

  11. attee, did you really just admit that the only thing stopping you from sinning is a belief on god? If so, consider how moral that makes you. Or more precicely, what a disgusting monster you potentially are.

Oh, and for future refrence, don't quote the bible or I'll have to delete your posts. We don't believe in it so it carries no authority with us

What??? That's not how this works. If you want to convince me God exists, then you have to PROVE that he does. I don't have to prove that he doesn't to think it's bull. And everything you people point to as evidence of God's existence could be explained with other unprovable theories. God is a comforting theory for many people. Others just don't need it.

  13. Pascal's Wager - "a person should wager as though God exists, because living life accordingly has everything to gain, and nothing to lose." If you become a Christian, and its true you will have eternal life in heaven, if its false, you will die stink and become extinct. But if you do not become a Christian, and its true, then you will spend eternity in hell.

  14. The thing atheists don't get about arguing Christianity, is that they don't understand experience. They interpret history as experience. They do not understand the fact that those who believe in a God have already decided that data and evidence do nothing in the case of disproving a God. Therefore, why wonder why you have to keep explaining the same "logic" argument over and over again? this is the disagreement point for both the faithful and faithless.
